1. The Maharashtra Home Ministry on Wednesday, 21st November 2012, confirmed that 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks convict Ajmal Kasab was hanged at 7.30 am on Wednesday morning. Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab was a terrorist who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks in India. Kasab was the only attacker captured alive by police and was kept at the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. On 29 August 2012, Kasab was found guilty of waging war and was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of India. 2. Government's single-window body to clear foreign investment proposals, FIPB,on Tuesday, 20th November 2012, cleared Swedish furniture major IKEA's Rs 10,500-crore project, the largest FDI in single-brand retail so far. IKEA Group, which manufactures and sells home and office furnishing products, proposes to invest in single-brand retail trading in India through a 100 percent subsidiary. IKEA's proposal to set up 25 stores in India has already been scrutinised by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in the Commerce and Industry Ministry. The proposal will now have to be cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) as the FIPB can clear investment applications worth up to Rs 1,200 crore only. What does FIPB stands for?

In a bid to control eve-teasing in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister announced on Tuesday 21st November 2012, during a function at the Gwalior trade fair, that those indulging in the act will not be get driving licences, passports and other government facilities. 4. Israel launches a major military operation in the Gaza Strip, as hostilities with Hamas escalate. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) operation in the Gaza Strip was officially launched on 14 November 2012 with the killing of Ahmed Jabari, chief of the Gaza military wing of Hamas. The stated aims of the operation are to halt the indiscriminate rocket attacks against civilian targets originating from the Gaza Strip and to disrupt the capabilities of militant organizations.
