As per the news from defence minsitry sources on Saturday, 27th October 2012, the Defence Ministry is all set to buy 15 heavy-lift helicopters from the US based Boeing as its bid emerged as the lowest. Known for their powerful contra-rotating tandem rotors, these helicopters are being operated by around 20 countries for heavy-lift assault, troop movement, logistics support, aerial battlefield recovery and special operations.
