3. The Supreme Court on Wednesday, 2nd January 2013, upheld the appointment of the retired Justice as the Lokayukta of the state. An apex court bench of Justice BS Chauhan and Justice FM Ibrahim Kalifulla said governor Kamla Beniwal appointed the retd justice as the state's lokayukta after due consultation with the chief justice of Gujarat high court as provided under the statute.
